Artist’s Statement

My art explores connections, from the viral to the social.  I use my work to explore connections between people, places, time, memories, spirituality, space and materials.  My installation work explores each space specifically, using often a minimal touch, and concepts of community, connectivity, and meditative space.  Installations make use of indigenous and chosen materials to transform the space.  The meditative expressions in my art reflect my investigation into human experience and as a reflection of the experience of art and art making.  Sculptural objects and video intermingle with installations, supporting the concepts while standing on their own.  Objects provide more materials exploration and studio processes.  My making process is a process of research and playful discovery.

My work is not about creating; but about noticing, focusing and distilling relationships.
