I’ve had this idea every time I pass Mr. Samuel Chambers on the street – his message is so negative and it gets to me every time. I’m not sure how effective this would be, but it would make a point and I’d be doing something about it. I try to ignore him, but with [...]

Good afternoon, you fair and kind beings.
Firstly, I have a newly built piece debut’ing at Aldo Castillo Gallery as part of the Deadline Projects show “High Art.” The theme of the show is a sly reference to mobiles, in the tradition of Calder and others. My contribution will be a miniaturized, compact version [...]

This post serves to collect various iterations of my “Octophonopod” piece in one place.
The first iteration debuted at ArtXposium in 2007. It consists of eight speakers and an accompanying audio-reactive LED display housed within eight paper lanterns. The speakers are fed by four CD players, i.e, eight mono channels of sound run through [...]

Last Saturday I exhibited two of my audio sculptures as part of MGFest 2008. My pieces were a nice contrast to the primarily video-based works making up most of the festival, and I think they were a hit because of it.
Here’s Octophonopod, installed here to fill the room with sound. I think in [...]

Here are a few pics of the completed Octophonopod installation. About 350 people came to the show between Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
The show itself was great- a huge variety of work by over 65 artists, the vast majority of which was of a high quality. I met a lot of fun people [...]

Last night I setup and did a test of the Octophonopod Audiovisual display system. Each glowing orb is its’ own individual sound channel, and the brightness of the LEDs corresponds to the amplitude of that channel.

Here’s a little flash animation I worked up for a show proposal illustrating my next audio/sculptural piece:
(click, then click icon again to launch. Sorry.)
It’s an 8-channel sound piece that triggers light/motion in the “arms” of an octopus-like structure. as proposed, the main body will hang from the ceiling, with each of the [...]

Saturday, July 21st was the 2nd installment of the Shiku Garu music/art party series, curated by James Beckman. Myself and most of the other members of Deadline Projects created some artworks for the show, all of which had to be smaller than 12″x12″12″.
My piece, titled “Small on the outside, infinite on the inside” was [...]
