The $10 Ableton Footcontroller

posted in: DIY, video by Michael Una on November 17, 2008

I published an article on Createdigitalmusic.com last week detailing how to build a footcontroller for use with programs like Ableton Live out of commonly found materials, for about $10.

You can read the article here.

You can see my demonstrative video there, but I’m going to post it here as well because I like it:

  1. This was posted a week before 11/17/08? I don’t think so…
I remember seeing your post before then. : ) like a year or so… ?

  2. Hey M,

Came across your createdigitalmusic.com article (from 07) about a week ago, thought about it for a bit and then found a cheap keyboard in a pawn shop.

Just gotta say thanks, this is such a sweet, simple and elegant answer. At first I wanted to ignore the autohotkey thing, but now that I’ve peaked inside and poked a bit, I can’t even really keep up with the possibilities. And that’s maybe the best thing about this, it’s so open and user-dynamic.

I’ve modified your set-up to fit my own desires (kept the space bar for an easy -stop, etc).

Have you tweaked yours much since setting it up so long ago?
