MGfest 2008

Last Saturday I exhibited two of my audio sculptures as part of MGFest 2008. My pieces were a nice contrast to the primarily video-based works making up most of the festival, and I think they were a hit because of it.

Here’s Octophonopod, installed here to fill the room with sound. I think in the future I will try to keep the pods clustered closer together:

And here’s Snowy Day, which was especially popular. People just stood around and stared, which I think it my intention for a lot of my work: getting people to lose track of time while contemplating the dynamic nature of vibrations.

Unfortunately, as the night wore on, the amplifier circuit became saturated in milk and began to malfunction. I was lucky that the malfunction was visually interesting, but next time I think I need to waterproof the electronics.
