I am and artist in Chicago. My sculptures and installations have often explored skin and surfaces, probably in an attempt to understand my own, very sensitive and problematic dermis. Now, at age 31, I will attempt to "cure" my late in life cystic acne with accutane. This blog will serve as a diary of my experience, and will hopefully help others with this challenging transformation. Getting "new skin" may change my art and the way I view and interact with the world.

Hey, thanks for your journal! I'm on Accutane too. Just finishing up my 2nd month.
The joint pain and dryness are my main complaints too...though I've had a bunch of other weird side effects. I got a cold sore on my lip and pink eye (at the same time-- EW!) which are both listed as side effects! This medicine is crazy.
I'm also feeling overly emotional, though I did have a painful breakup recently, so who knows if it's the Accutane!
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for keeping your blog! I'm looking forward to reading more!
